Properties
Dimethyl Phthalate is a colourless oily liquid with slight aromatic odor. It is soluble in most organic solvents & slightly soluble in water.
Applications
- As an efficient plasticizer used for cellulose polymers, particularly for cellulose acetates, etc., it imparts flexibility and strength.
- In insect/mosquito repellants as an active ingredient in many formulations
- As a catalyst in the manufacturing of organic peroxides, which are used as polymerizing agents. It is compatible with such polymers and hence is very effective in performance.
- In grinding of pigments, other additives due to its wetting property and low viscosity.
- In the manufacture of safety glasses, rubber coating agents, moulding powders and lacquer preparations.
Packing
Dimethyl Phthalate is available in bulk by road tankers, ISO tanks, 235 kgs capacity M.S. and HDPE drums.
